Olly is a surveyor specialising in fluvial and coastal environments and has combined an academic background with survey experience across a wide range of environments. He studied Land and Hydrographic Surveying MSc at University of Glasgow, developing knowledge in core surveying practices and the fundamentals underpinning them. This helped to build upon the knowledge he gained studying Earth Sciences BSc also at University of Glasgow, primarily with fieldwork practices data analysis. Through previous work experience, he has applied this knowledge to a wide range of surveys and environments. Olly is proficient in the use of total stations, GNSS, LiDAR and multibeam echo sounders (MBES). His previous experience involved undertaking large scale integrated surveys which often included a combination of LiDAR and MBES to produce 3D models of marine assets. As a Field Technician, Olly assists cbec’s Technical Team with topographic, bathymetric and fluvial audit surveys.
